How to manage your dumpster operation with Track Your Dump

← Back to Admin Login

1. What is Track Your Dump?

Track Your Dump is a simple web tool for tracking where your dumpsters are, when they were delivered or picked up, and a photo record of each event. As an administrator you can see every active dumpster on a live map, review and export history, send messages to your team, and add or remove dumpsters from the system.

Everything runs in a web browser — nothing to install. It works on a computer, tablet, or phone.

2. Logging In

  1. Go to your company web address (for example trackyourdump.com).
  2. On the welcome screen, choose Admin.
  3. Enter your email and password, then click Login.
  4. You will land on the Admin Dashboard.
Forgot your password? Use the employee login page link "Forgot your password?" to receive a reset email, then follow the link to set a new password.
Admin access is restricted. Only accounts with the admin role can open the Admin Dashboard. If you log in with a non-admin account you'll be returned to the welcome screen. Admin accounts are granted by your system owner.

3. The Admin Dashboard

The dashboard greets you by name and gives you one card for each task:

Delivery

Record a dumpster drop off.

Pull / Pick Up

Record a dumpster pickup.

Dumpster Inventory

See all active dumpsters on a live map.

Pickup & Drop-off Logs

View and export activity history.

Send Message

Message your team or broadcast to everyone.

Configure Dumpsters

Add, remove, and label dumpsters; make QR codes.

Click Logout at the bottom when you're done.

4. Recording a Delivery (Drop Off)

  1. On the dashboard, click Record under Delivery.
  2. Type the drop-off address (or tap Use Current Location to fill it from your device's location).
  3. Enter the Dumpster Tag (the number/label on the dumpster) and choose the Dumpster Size.
  4. Add a Dropoff Photo — on a phone this opens the camera.
  5. Click Drop Off. A small map preview confirms the location, and the dumpster now appears on the inventory map.
The Drop Off button stays greyed out until the address, tag, and size are all filled in. This prevents incomplete records.

5. Recording a Pickup

  1. On the dashboard, click Record under Pull / Pick Up.
  2. Enter the pickup location, the Dumpster Tag, and the Size.
  3. Add a Pickup Photo.
  4. Click Pick Up.
When a dumpster is picked up it is removed from the live inventory map (it's no longer in the field), but the full history stays in the Logs.

6. Dumpster Inventory Map

Click View under Dumpster Inventory to open a live map of every dumpster currently in the field. The map refreshes automatically about every 10 seconds.

  1. Pick a Date and a Range (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly), then click Show.
  2. Use « Prev / Next » to move between time periods.
  3. Columns include Dumpster Tag, Size, Drop-off time, Pickup time, Location, and photos.
  4. Click a photo to enlarge it.

Exporting

Use Export as PDF for a printable report, or Export as Spreadsheet to download a CSV you can open in Excel or Google Sheets.

8. Sending Messages

Click Send under Send Message. You'll see a list of users with Name and Email.

  1. To message one person: type in the box on their row and click Send.
  2. To message everyone: type in the Message All Users box and click Send to All.
Employees see a red dot on the message icon on their dashboard when they have unread messages, and can read them from their Messages page.

9. Configuring Dumpsters & QR Codes

Add a dumpster

  1. Click Configure under Configure Dumpsters.
  2. In the Create Dumpster box, enter a Dumpster Number (e.g. DMP-101) and select a Size.
  3. (Optional) Choose a QR Color and tick Generate QR Code After Creation to immediately download a printable QR.
  4. Click Create.

The dumpster table

  • Shows Tag, Size, current Location, and a QR Code download button.
  • If a dumpster shows Inactive, a [Set Location] link opens the Delivery form with the tag and size already filled in.
  • Tick the checkboxes and click Delete Selected to remove dumpsters. Use the header checkbox to select the whole page.
  • Use Prev / Next at the bottom to page through long lists.

QR codes

Click Download QR PDF on any row to get a printable PDF (logo, QR code, and tag). Print it and attach it to the physical dumpster. When an employee scans it with a phone camera, they're taken to a page that shows the dumpster and lets them start a Delivery, Swap, or Removal — with the tag pre-filled.

QR codes can be re-downloaded any time, so it's easy to reprint one that gets damaged.
